# Overview

**Product Hierarchy** enables you to configure relationships between the Category, Type and Class for each entered Company.

> ℹ️ **Note**: Each company will need its own product hierarchy, however, this can be the same as another company.

Products can be configured to only one class, but a class can belong to one or many types. Product Types can belong to one or many Product Categories.
**For example**, Product Class 'Roofing Screws' can be configured to the 'Accessories' and 'Fasteners' Product Types.

When adding a Product Hierarchy, the Company ID, Category, Type and Class values must be valid in ProStix.
