The **Product Class** is the third level in the hierarchy structure. Products link to Product Classes, and Products Classes link to Product Types. 

Examples of Product Classes include:

- Corrugated Iron
- Polycarbonate
- Roofing Screws
- Timber Screws
- Glues
- Construction Adhesive
- Pine
- Dishwashers
- Cooktops
- Baths

The following are examples of Product Classes displayed on a test Trade Portal site, upon selecting '**Products**', then any of the Product Types.

- When adding a Product Class in ProStix, the class value must be unique, it must be no longer than 12 characters, and special characters should be avoided.
- When adding a Product Class Description in ProStix it must be no longer than 40 characters, and special characters should be avoided.
