This program allows you to purge those special products, i.e. the Product Type 7 (and run-outs, i.e. Product Type 3) from the Product Master File where the purchase order for the product has been received to stock before the date specified and the customer order has been released for invoicing and delivery. 1. From the ' Main Menu' select options - 'System Administration' - 'File Purges' - 'Product Purge' .   2. The first screen displays a warning and allows you to key in the date prior to which all special products and/or run-out products will be purged:      Warning - This program will delete all special products and run-out products which have been received on a Purchase order before the date specified and which have been released on a Customer Order.      If selecting YES to Inactive Products all products which have been inactive since the purge date will be deleted.       Special Products:   key 'yes' to purge all special products in the Product Master File prior to the given date.      Exclude Specials on Contracts:   key 'yes' to exclude all special products that are on a contract (exclude regardless of whether the contract has expired or not).      Run-Out Products:   key 'yes' to purge all run-out products in the Product Master File prior to the given date.      Inactive Products:   key 'yes' to purge all inactive products in the Product Master File prior to the given date.   3. When 'yes' is selected for 'Inactive Products' the following checks will be made for each product on the Product Master File:      1.  That all branches for the product have no stock.      2.  That there are no outstanding purchase orders for the product.      3.  That there are no sales orders for the product.      4.  That there have been no sales of the product since the purge date.      5.  That there are no current stock requisitions for the product. 4. The deletion process will be slow as it will have a great deal of searching to do per product to determine its eligibility to be deleted.   In an attempt to overcome this, the ProductGroupRange can be used to perform the purge on sections of the product file rather than the entire product file at once.      Product Group From/To:   key the product group range.      ALL Zero-stock Products:   key 'yes' to select ALL zero-stock products for purging.      Purge Date:   key the date from which special products and/or run-out products are to be purged from the Product Master File.  Any products in the Product Master File that meets the above requirements will be automatically deleted. 5 If you key a date which is within one (1) month of the current date then the following message will appear:      Warning you should keep at least 1 months data in the file. 6. Press the <Space-Bar> to continue or press/click <F4> (Exit) to re-key the purge date.      Export File Name:   specify the export file name or leave blank for none. 7. When the purge is complete, the program will return you to the File Purges menu.
