Plant Manufacturing Overheads that contributed to the cost of the finished goods are defined in the branch general ledger accounts (menu options - 'Systems Administration' - 'System Set-Up' - 'Define Product Groups' - <F9> Branch Number - <F9>). All Recovery and corresponding COGS accounts relate to the values defined for the plant in 'Production Scheduling' - File Maintenance' - 'Plants' whereby: Labour refers to the Labour Rate Factory, Labour, MFG and Detail On-Costs refer to Factory Overhead, Labour On-Cost, MFG On-Cost and Detail On-Cost Loading O’Head and Delivery are new entries to the Plant Maintenance screen Production Completion When the last work centre is completed, GL movement occurs between Finished Stock - Recovery Accounts. If the recovery accounts are not defined, the movement will simply be between the Finished Stock - Stock Accounts. Order Release When the order is released, G/L movement occurs between Finished Stock –v- COGS Accounts and the Sale Time Recovery Accounts –v- Sale Time COGS. This movement to separate COGS accounts will permit the GP of each overhead to be monitored on a monthly basis. The system tailoring flag ' JobFrtComp ' will allow the freight component of a manufactured product to be added to the line cost of a job after WC Completion without any G/L movement occurring for this freight component until the physical delivery occurs. That is, Order Release. So, all order and job reports as well as the Re-pricing program will display the full cost and margin. A ' freight ' product needs to be flagged as Product Type 6 and Manufacturing Type 'f' - these flags are determined in Product Maintenance option More Data, General Info: If a 'Freight' product is added as a component of the job: At End of Production i.e WC Completion, no GL or stock movement will occur for the freight component – the Finished Goods component will comprise stock and ALL factory overheads. However, when you view the costs, run a report or reprice the order, the 'freight' will be included in the display. Prior to release, users will be able to update the freight component to determine the final delivery fee without having to un-complete the job. At Order Release, GL movement will occur from the freight Stock Account to the freight COGS account. Note that there is no stock movement for the freight product if it is a component. G/L movements at Work Centre completion: DR Finished Goods with line cost less freight CR Stock with all components less freight CR Overhead recovery accounts G/L movements at Order Release: CR Finished Goods with line cost less freight DR Overhead COGS accounts DR COGS manufactured product with costs of all components less freight CR Stock of freight product with value of freight component DR COGS of freight product with value of freight component
