For everyone else, please contact   Sterland Support  for assistance. QUESTION: SYS: How do I define a device in Prostix? ANSWER: To define a device in ProStix,  perform the following: Note : You must know the IP of the PC you are using to connect to Prostix. Use the  ipconfig  command to obtain your IP address. 1. On the Linux Prostix server log in as root. 3. Type:  cd /  etc 4. Type:  vi hosts 5. Type the device IP and the name of the device. In the example below, the IP for Sterland has been added with a device name of sterland. 6. Once the entry is saved into the hosts file, log into ProStix and add the device. Refer to  Define Devices  in the  System Administration User Guide  for further information. 7. Once completed, the device is now defined.
