The  Codes (Characters)  option allows you to create and maintain the default values to alphanumeric fields used throughout ProStix. The main difference between Miscellaneous Flags and Codes (Characters) is that the miscellaneous flags require a yes/no response and the Codes (Characters) require an alphanumeric response. Refer to  ProStix Tailoring and Configuration Flags  for an explanation of the current Code (Characters) Values. To maintain Character Codes, perform the following: 1. From the  ProStix   Main Menu   select  'System Administration'   then  'Configuration'   then  'Tailoring Options'  then  'Codes (Characters)' . 2.  To add a miscellaneous Character code to the table, select <F6> (Add) and complete the following fields. 3. To change a Character code, select the required code and select <F7> (Change). i. You are permitted to change the Description and the 'Value' fields. ii. If you need to change the Code for any reason (For example; it may have been misspelt and the code has to be deleted and re-added), type the required changes to the current data, then select <F1>. 4. To delete a Character code, select the required code and select <F5> (Delete). Select <F5> to confirm. The code is deleted. 5. To print a list of Character codes, select <F8> (Print) and the required print option/s. 6. Refer to  ProStix Tailoring and Configuration Flags  for an explanation of the current Code (Characters) Values.
