A Kit refers to a product made up of a combination of several products that are subsequently sold as a single product. For example, a Kit product may consist of 8 units of product A, 1 unit of product B and 4 units of product C. When setting up the Kit product, the kit can be defined as an exploding kit or a non-exploding kit depending on the functionality required by the kit. That is, should the components list on the invoice. See 'Kit Types' below for more details. Once the kit header is created, individual products and quantities are defined as component parts of the Kit. The Kit as a whole may be called product D. Product D is then defined in the product master file as the Kit Header (select 'Product Maintenance' then 'More Data' then 'General Information '). This is done by changing the field 'Kit Header' from 'no' (normal product default) to ' yes '. To maintain Kits, perform the following: 1. From the ProStix Main Menu select 'Inventory Management' then 'Product Maintenance' then 'Kit Maintenance' . 2. Refer to the following links/processes for further information.
