This process explains how to merge two products that exist independently on the system, either manually, in batch mode, or by using the Merge Table.   To merge two products that exist independently on the system, perform the following: 1. From the  ProStix Main Menu  select  'Inventory Management'  then  'Product Maintenance'  then  'Merge Products' . 2. The first screen prompts for the Product information of the product to be merged into. Refer to the 'Merge Into' collapsible link for an explanation of these options: 3.The remaining product information fields default to the information held in the Product Master File for the selected product. 4.The next screen prompts for the product to be merged. Refer to the 'To Be Merged' collapsible link for an explanation of these options: 5. The remaining product information defaults to the Product Master File for the selected product. 6. The 'Merge Products' screen allows you to exit from the program without merging the product if the information supplied is not correct. Refer to the 'Merge Products' collapsible link for an explanation of these options: 7. If the change is not to be run in batch mode, the following message appears at the bottom of the screen:  'Merging Product throughout the system' (followed by the messages) 'Procedure complete' 'Press space bar to continue'  8. Select the <Space Bar> to take you back to the 'Merge Into' screen. 9.  If you are using the option to run the Product Number merges in batch mode, you may view any pending Product Number merges by selecting the <F8> (Table) key. 10.  You may import products to be merged into the Merge Table via the <F9> Import function key. This program is designed to read a comma delimited input file.  'Column A'  being the Merged into Product and  'Column B'  being the Product to be merged.
