From the parent product you are also able to maintain multiple child products, alternately you are also able to maintain  child products  separately. The goal is that each child product will have its own stock on hand. To create Child Products from within a Parent Product, perform the following: 1. From the  ProStix Main Menu  select  'Inventory Management'  then  'Product Maintenance'  2. Type or search for the child product if maintaining a Child Product. 3.  Select <F1> to save, then select ' Child Products ' from the  Options  menu. 4. The 'Child Costs' screen is displayed. Refer to the ' Child Costs ' collapsible link below for a screenshot and an explanation of the options.   5.  Associated Child products are listed for each length defined.  When the Child product is created, the UM can be defined as either LM (Lineal Metre) or PC (Piece). 6. To add a new Child Product, perform the following: i. Select <F6> (Add).  Refer to the 'Child Products' collapsible link below for a screenshot and an explanation of the options.   ii. Select <F1> to proceed. The Product is then created and added as a child to the Parent Product.  Refer to the 'Child Products options' collapsible link below for a screenshot and an explanation of the options.   Maintaining a Child Product   To maintain a Child Product, perform the following: 1. From the  ProStix Main Menu  select  'Inventory Management'  then  'Product Maintenance'  2. Type or search for the child product if maintaining a Child Product. 3. Select ' Child Products ' from the  Options  menu.    Refer to the 'Product header screen' collapsible link below for a screenshot and an explanation of the options.   4. To maintain the Child Products Supplier pricing, perform the following: i. From the  Options  menu, select ' Suppliers ' then ' Preferred Supplier ' then select <enter>. ii.  A new option ‘ Reset Child Cost ’ has been added to allow Child product costs to be applied from the Parent Suppliers cost.  A Child cost is only updated if the child product has this same supplier.    iii. From the ' Supplier Pricing ' screen select ' Update Pricing ' then enter/update the required Supplier Price for each Child Product with the same supplier, then select <F1> to save.
