Steps: The purchase order currency is displayed on any screens that display a purchase order cost. All amounts are stored within the ProStix database at the local currency amount. The 'PurImpCost' flag will determine if costings are to be updated from the costing worksheet or not. When the goods are received, the 'Receipt Details' option will be selected. However if a costing worksheet is detected against the purchase order (since purchase orders are attached to a shipment), it will not prompt for the 'Receive to Stock' details. Instead it will return back to the order details and options screen. At this point the costing worksheet attached to the shipment should be finalised by reviewing the estimated shipping costs and setting the finalised flag to 'yes'. When you select <F7> to enter a quantity to receipt, there is a prompt for using pack numbers. Selecting 'yes' takes you to a program that also now has a field to accept the original supplier's pack number. Mark, delivery docket and supplier name is retrieved from existing fields. When receipting data is updated, any amount assigned to an FEC contract is locked. The 'Update Stock' option from Stock Receipting can then be used to receive the goods into stock, which will update the stock on hand, average cost, etc. Before the 'Receive to Stock' screen is displayed, a check will be performed to see if a costing worksheet is attached to the purchase order (via the consignment the purchase order is attached to). i. If a worksheet doesn't exist and the 'PurImpCost' flag is set to 'no', then the previous functionality is executed. ii. If the 'PurImpCost' flag is set to 'yes' and the costing worksheet's finalised flag is set to 'no', then an error message is displayed stating that the costing worksheet needs to be finalised prior to goods being received into stock, and the program returns back to the options menu. iii. If the 'PurImpCost' flag is set to 'yes' and the costing worksheet is finalised then the normal receive to stock process is performed. There are some differences in average costing with the General Ledger transactions created which are noted below, since if a costing worksheet exists, the costs should be updated from the worksheet, not from existing import charges invoices attached to the purchase order or consignment. Each import charge code has an associated General Ledger code, the G/L code can be used as a clearing account (average costing system) or an expense account (standard or nominal costing system). When importing charges are used to update the stock accounts the charges will be apportioned as a percentage to the total of all purchase orders on the consignment.  Depending on the setting of the apportioning method tailoring character code 'ImpCstAvg' the import costs set against the received marks will be distributed across them by 'volume' or by 'value'. If the flag 'ImpCstActl' is set to 'yes' then the 'ImpCstVar' decimal is checked for the amount of allowable variation. The decision on actual versus estimate cost can be made on a line by line basis.
