Impact on Other Functional Areas The existing Pack Maintenance within ProStix is used for maintaining / deleting the pack record if the record was created in error by the pack label print application.  A nightly job is to be created and run to refresh available timber products that are available for creation by the Pack Label Print application.  A new scheduled task will also be created to perform the commit to stock rather than the user having to commit stock via ProStix Pack Maintenance.  Build / Refresh of Available Timber Products  A nightly scheduled task builds / refreshes the list of available products within the ProStix Product Master File that are timber products that can be created within the mill. These records can then be utilised by the new Pack Label Print application.  This task is needed in order to meet performance needs since the current structure of the Product Master File does not allow for quick access to the necessary data. The new scheduled task is created via a separate setup program. This should only have to be run initially to create the task within the environment. This will create the scheduled task.  First of all, the nightly task deletes all existing timber products within the new timber product table to ensure a complete refresh of data.  The nightly task then extracts timber tally products from the Product Master File where valid non-blank, non-zero values exist within the species, grades, finishes and width and depth fields. Once the task has established it has a valid timber product that can be used by the new Pack Label Print program, it will then copy the relevant data into this new timber product table.
