Goal: In this lesson you will learn how to make adjustments to debtor accounts. From time to time, adjustments need to be made to debtor accounts to reduce or increase their account balances.  These could be necessary due to a payment processed to the wrong account that needs to be transferred, or a disputed charge like interest that needs to be adjusted off to a General Ledger account.  Similar to account payments these adjustments are processed in 'batch mode', meaning that all entries can be keyed in, balanced and verified, then posted all at once as a total.    Steps: 1.From the  'Main Menu'  select options -  'Accounts Receivable' - 'Transaction Processing' - 'Enter Transactions' . 2. Press/Click <F6> if  creating a new batch . Select  'Adjustments'  as the type of batch. 3. If adding to an existing batch, type in the batch number. This will bring up the  batch options  window. Select  'Add Mode' .  4. Enter the customer number or  search  for the customer whose account is to be adjusted. 5. If the adjustment is to transfer an amount of money from one customer to another customer, enter in or search for the 'To Customer'. 6. If the adjustment is to transfer an amount of money from one customer to a General Ledger account, leave the 'To Customer' blank and key in or search for the relevant G/L Account to receive the adjustment. Key in a reference for the general ledger posting and the analysis code if required. 7. Key in the amount to be adjusted as it would appear on the customer account. i.e. If reducing the customer debt, key a negative amount. The positive amount will appear on either the 'To Customer' or the G/L Account. 8.If the adjustment is for a  Balance Forward  Customer, age the adjustment to the appropriate age.  9. If the adjustment is for an  Open Item  Customer, allocate the adjustment to the appropriate invoices. 10. When finished press/click <F4> to go back to the batch screen, verify the batch is correct and mark it as complete. Debtor to debtor adjustments should have a nil balance, Debtor to G/L Account adjustments will list a balance. 11.
