The next step after receipting is to do a pick run on a PDT. The purpose of the picking process is to collect the required products and transfer them to despatch locations, ready for shipping to destination branches. The operator will do a pick run for the location that the receipted product has been put into. The pick screen tells the operator which branch the product/quantity is for, and the operator moves the product/quantity into a marshalling location (typically a pallet) for that branch. When picking from receipted stock (Int = no) the program checks the P/O associated with the trnreq to see if it has been received yet, before considering it eligible for pick. Another pick run is done for the branch, however the operator nominates that they only want to consider internal stock. In this case ProStix informs the user where in the warehouse locations (racks/bins) to pick the product/quantity from for that branch. This product is added to the marshalling locations(s) for that branch. Inv330r.w is the 'header' program that builds the pick list based on user selection. Inv330r.i checks the outstanding requisitions for each of the products in that location, or required by a branch. Trnreqs (Stock Requisitions) requiring picking are of status ' P ', however the program checks for any already picked with a status of ' Q '.  When a user confirms a product picked (inv330ord.w), the trnreq is updated (inv330r.w) with the quantity picked, the location picked into, the user who picked it and the status changed to ' Q' . A movement log entry is created and the locations updated.   The Picking menu allows you to pick goods to fulfil the requisitions for other branches either by branch or by location. The first option picks the goods according to the requirements of the receiving branch whereas the second option picks products from a specific location in the warehouse. ProStix stores the username of the person who last picked a product for a requisition. This is available to display in the requisition enquiry. A System Tailoring flag exists (InvCDFPSrt) for the reversal of the sort sequence the program picks the next available requisition for (default is for the order to be ascending branch - 001…002…003… etc). This only has impact when using the PDT picking option (by location only). Note : For products entered on an order more than once, these will be consolidated for the purpose of picking. Therefore a total quantity is expected when you come across a product in such a situation. Whether picking by branch or by location, products will be presented for picking according to the following priorities: 1. Urgent requisitions 2. Requisitions linked to sales orders 3. Requisitions that have already been partially picked 4. Other requisitions The sort sequences described below are enacted within these priorities.
