The next step after picking is for the operator to transfer the product from the marshalling location to the branch despatch location via PDT. Marshalling locations and Despatch locations are not pickable and are flagged as being reserved for particular branches by virtue of their bin numbers. Program inv310r.w (and inv311r.w ) check the 'type' of locations involved; that is, Stock Marshalling, Despatch.  If product is moved from a Despatch or Marshalling location to a Stock location, then any associated picked requisitions (trnreqs) are 'unpicked'; that is, pick fields are cleared. If the products for picked trnreqs are moved from a marshalling to a despatch location, then the trnreqs are updated with the new despatch location as the 'picked' location. A movement log record is written and location stocks are updated. Location control in the CDF warehouse means that all stock in the warehouse reside in a location and any physical movement of stock is recorded as location transfers. This PDT function allows the recording of product movement from one location to another single location within the warehouse. If a quantity of a product is taken from one location and placed into two destination locations, you need to perform two transfers. From the PDT menu, use the down arrow key to select Transfers : The product that is to be transferred to a pickable location in the warehouse is scanned or the number typed into the first field on the following screen: The user then types or scans the quantity to be transferred. If this quantity is greater than that recorded for the location, the user is permitted to continue but this product is flagged for checking in the product enquiry program. However, if there are no products found in the From Location , an error is displayed. If the To Location is not a valid location, an error message is displayed and you are not permitted to proceed. Once the transfer information regarding this product has been typed, you are prompted to type 'yes' to confirm and complete the transfer: The PDT transfer menu only allows the use to transfer one product at a time.
