The Future pricing functionality allows the use of future prices on future dated Purchase Orders, Sales Quotes and Orders, and Job Quotes and Orders prior to future prices having been applied within the system.  For further information, refer to  Future Pricing Setup.   PurchaseOrderProcessing If the 'InvFPrice' flag is set to 'yes' and the delivery date for the Purchase Order being typed is equal to or greater than your future price date, then the system uses the relevant future cost price.  The cost is determined by using the following hierarchy:  1. If a future supplier cost exists – use it. 2. If no future supplier cost, use the current supplier cost. 3. If no supplier cost use any future branch cost. 4. If no branch cost use current branch cost. 5. If no branch cost use future standard. 6. If no future standard use current standard. If future costs have been used on the future dated Purchase Order, the following message is displayed when exiting the Order Details screen:  'Information - Future Costs have been used on this order based on the delivery date at time of entry. Current delivery date is 99/99/99'  This message appears each time the user exits the Order Details if any future cost exists.  Changing the Delivery Date If the Delivery Date on the Order is changed from a future date to a current date, any future priced products that exist on the order are NOT re-priced, however any additional products keyed onto the Order are based on current prices. This rule also applies if you change the delivery date on the order from a Current date to a Future date. In this case any items entered while the date was a current date would pick up current pricing and any additional items typed after the date was changed to the future date would be priced at future prices.  Promotions Future promotions are also considered if the delivery date on the Purchase Order falls within the duration of the promotion selected.  Quotes, Sales Order and Jobs  If the flag 'OrdFPrice' is set to 'yes', and the delivery date for the Sales Order, Quote or Job being typed is equal to or greater than your future price date, then the system uses the relevant future cost and sell price. Please see the topic  'Future Pricing Rules - Sales'  for more information.  If any future cost or sell has been used on the future dated Sales Order, Quote or Job, the following message is displayed when exiting the Order Details screen:  'Information - Future Costs have been used on this order based on the delivery date at time of entry. Current delivery date is 99/99/99'  This message appears each time the user exits the Order Details if any future cost or sell exists.  Note: Future pricing is not available at POS and does not apply to COD customers, cash sale customers, credit notes or cash sale refunds  Releasing the Order When releasing future dated orders the number of tolerance days (see Integer 'OrdDelDTol' for more information) is compared to the number of days between the release date and the order line delivery date for each future priced product on the order. If that comparison is within the tolerance days then the order is not re-priced, but if it is outside the tolerance days, then the future priced products concerned will be re-priced to current prices.  Changing the Delivery Date If the Delivery Date is changed on the Order to no longer be a future date, any future price that currently exists is NOT re-priced, however any additional products typed onto the Order are based on current prices. This rule also applies if you change a Current date on the Order to a Future date (only additional items typed are priced at future). However, when you do change the date and you have future pricing turned on, a warning message appears:  'Warning - Future prices may exist for products on the order. You should reprice the order using the new delivery date'.  To ensure you have your order correctly priced you should use the 'Re-pricing' option and select 'Future Prices'.  Use of Promotions Future promotions are also considered if the delivery date on the Purchase Order falls within the duration of the promotion selected.  Use of Contracts If a contract is used on a future dated Quote, Sales Order or Job, and the 'InvAFPDCon' flag is set to 'yes', future contract prices are considered. For more information on future contract pricing see the section under 'Future Contract Maintenance'.  Re-pricing Option There is an option on the 'Repricing' menu labeled 'Future Prices', which when selected allows the Order to be re-priced to use Future prices based on the Order Delivery Date. Note : It also takes into account any future Contract or Discount Group pricing if either of these have been applied to the order (that is, a contract code or a discount group code appear on the order header) prior to selecting the Future Prices Re-pricing option.  When this new option is selected, a screen appears to allow the user to Re-price the order using future prices.  The 'Date' field defaults to the delivery date stored on the Header of the Order. Here the user may enter a future date and the order is re-priced according to the prices that would be applicable at that date, however it can be no greater than the current delivery date. If the user attempts to change the date at this screen to a date greater than the delivery date, they are presented with the following message:  'Error - Invalid Date. You can only use a date between today and the current specified delivery date of 99/99/99'.  Discount Group Re-pricing If re-pricing the order using the 'Discount Group' option and a future delivery line date exists for a product or products on the order where a future discount exists, the re-pricing program re-prices the order using the future discount percentage rather than the current discount.  Contract Re-pricing If you use the 'Contract' re-pricing option, it checks the delivery line date for each product on the order. If it finds a future date it then checks for a future contract price for the contract on the order. If it finds a future contract price it re-prices the order using that future price rather than the current contract price. For more information on future contract pricing see the section under 'Future Contract Maintenance'.  Copying Orders/ Quotes and Jobs If you select to copy an existing Order/Quote or Job, the date entered on the new Order/Quote or Job is considered and re-priced accordingly.  Future Contract Maintenance  Refer to Future Contract Maintenance .
