The main purpose of the ProStix Production Scheduling module is to schedule the processes required to assemble job orders through manufacturing plants according to the customers required delivery date. The delivery date for a job order is entered through the Sales Order Processing module.  The Production Scheduling module then schedules the processes involved in completing the job order through the Manufacturing Plant to meet the required delivery date. The Manufacturing Plant is further divided into work centres.  These work centres can be defined as assembly points such as the cutting saw or processes such as a Credit Check that are scheduled according to a pre-defined sequence so that the flow of work required to complete an order can be monitored by each work centre due date and the delivery date for the order can be achieved. Thus, the work centre models can be set up in much the same way as job material models (Sales Order Processing).  These models are copied to jobs of the same or similar nature to eliminate the need to key every detail for the new job. If a job materials model was created for the order in Sales Order Processing, a work centre model header is automatically created for use in the Production Scheduling module. Both models (that is, job material and work centre) will be of the same name and the information in both models can be adjusted to suit each individual job.  If a Job Order is created through Job Processing from the Sales Order Processing menu and your system is set up with the Sales Order Processing and Production Scheduling modules interfacing, a Production Schedule will be created for the Job Order.  This Job Order can then be maintained through the Production Scheduling module. This module may be used on its own or in conjunction with the Sales Order Processing   module.
