The Production Planning option allows you to view and maintain the level of scheduled work by plant and then drill down to the work centre for each plant. The work to be completed is displayed in  Date Required  sequence. The Production Planning option allows you to manually reschedule this work. To execute Production Planning, perform the following:   1. From the  ProStix Main Menu  select  'Production Scheduling'  then  'Production Planning' . 2. The ' Select Plant ' screen displays a list of production plants to choose from. Select the plant to enquire upon or maintain, then the range of dates as per the table below: 3. The next screen displays a list of all the Work Centres that have work to be completed within the specified date range.  4. Production capacity is defined in the File Maintenance option,  Work Centres . Select and edit if you wish to adjust the capacity of the workcentre. 5. The number of shifts to be worked on a day are defined in the File Maintenance option,  Calendars .  Select and edit if you wish to adjust the number of shifts to be worked on a day.  6. If required, you may then either adjust the number of shifts to cope with the overflow or adjust the  Required Dates  for the jobs concerned. 7.  Select the required manufacturing date and Work Centre t o enquire upon and maintain jobs to be completed for that Work Centre.   A list of jobs for the selected Work Centre and the dates they are required to be manufactured by is displayed.   To   update the production plan, select <F7>,   then modify the  ' Required Date '  for a job or jobs for the selected Work Centre.   8. To enquire on the work centres responsible for holding up production of a job, highlight the required job, then select <F5> (Status).  All work centres related to the selected job that have not been completed and have a stop code of  Manufacture  are displayed.  For more information on stop codes, refer to the section on File Maintenance,  Work Centres . 9. Select <F4> (Exit) to exit this program.
