Gift Card/Voucher Sales are used when customers wish to purchase gift cards or vouchers, which people can later use to purchase goods from the company. A gift card has a magnetic stripe that is charged with a certain value; a gift voucher is a slip of paper whose tender value is written on it.  Because there is no actual outgoing stock, these transactions are not treated as ordinary sales. Gift card and voucher issues are recorded in the till log and till reconciliation as Gift Card Issue transactions. To issue gift cards or vouchers, perform the following: 1. From the ProStix Main Menu select 'Point of Sale' then 'Till Operations' then 'Gift Card / Voucher Sales' . 2. ProStix then prompts you to start a Cash or Account sale.  A Cash sale has no customer details attached and is paid for immediately.  An Account sale is charged against the customer's account and can be paid for later. For more information on Cash/Account Sales refer to Selecting Cash and Account   3. ProStix currently has two methods in which gift vouchers are processed. Refer to the 'method 1' and 'method 2' collapsible links below.
