To add a new customer via Maintain Shareholders, perform the following: 1. From the  ProStix   Main Menu  select  'Shareholder Register'  then  'Shareholder Maintenance'  then  'Maintain Shareholders'. 2. The 'Select Company' screen is displayed. Type the relevant company if applicable, then select <enter>. <F3> Search is available. 3. The 'Customer Share Programs' screen is displayed: 4. Type the shareholder program name, then select <enter>. <F3> Search is available. 5. The following screen is displayed 6. Typing <F6> to add an existing customer to the share program. 7. You are then presented with screens with the fields as defined above for adding a new customer. For the initial entry for a new shareholding, the user is prompted for shareholder details. Certain fields are updateable and others not updateable depending upon the entity code being used. Also the number of detail records that may be attached to the shareholding account varies depending upon the type of entity code. For example. A company entity code can only have a single account detail record and has the company name, ABN and address details and notes available for entry while an individual is only able to have the individual details, address and notes entered. This information is purely for ATO reporting purposes only. <F8> Details displays a list of attached shareholders and allows maintenance ( <F7> Update ) of these records.  8. You are presented with a second screen with fields depending on the entity type selected, as described above. All shareholdings are displayed.  It does not display the shareholders that are attached OR the attached customers / debtors.  9. Additional options include: 10. A new Function Key (<F8>) at the Shareholder Maintenance Screen is available to display a Group hierarchy. Any dividend is to the parent.  Only dividends attract a withholding tax if no ABN or TFN is available.  Thus withholding tax is to look at the child first (shareholder), and if it cannot find a TFN or ABN for that child, it then checks all children records for the existence of one.  If none exist, then the withholding tax rate is applied. The status is either Active / In-Active (sleeper).
