The Notification System is designed to enable users to be notified by ProStix of certain events. These notifications can be in the form of either standard email or ProStix mail and may or may not include an attachment depending on the volume of data being distributed. Event Types Maintenance is the first step in setting up a system notification. It is the definition of the system events that trigger a notification event to be recorded. Notification Events Log is the repository for all notification events that were created in the specified time frame. It accumulates the events for the Notification engine to pick up and send the actual notification mail. Notification Tasks defines the timing for the checking of system events and who to notify. Notification Engine defines the timing for checking on the existence of notification events and the actual sending of mail messages. When checked (by Notification Tasks), System Events create Notification Events. When checked (by Notification Engine), Notification Events trigger the sending of notification mail. ProStix System Notifications may be configured to be sent to users by way of their email system. These notifications are received, opened & viewed as per standard emails. Any detailed notifications may also include an attachment for things like lists of products, customers or order numbers. To setup and maintain notifications, perform the following: 1. From the ProStix Main Menu select 'System Services' then 'Notification System' .
