ProStix currently supports a number of background tasks (services). These services are all managed/monitored within the System Services menu option. To setup and maintain system services, perform the following: 1. From the ProStix Main Menu select 'System Services' then 'System Services' . 2. The following message appears warning that the work of maintaining the system services should be done expediently. If you only wish to enquire on the status of the system services then use the System Services option from the ProStix Express Menu. 3. Upon accepting the warning message, the 'System Services' screen displays all the defined system services and their current status. This screen auto-refreshes so that you are always seeing the up-to-date status. 4. To add a new system service , arrow down to the 'Job Processor' line, then select <F6> (Add), then complete the details. Refer to the 'System Services Options'  collapsible link below for an explanation of these options , then complete the fields as per instructions. 5. To delete a particular system service , highlight the required record, then select <F5> (Delete), then confirm the selection when prompted. 6. To update the parameters of a particular system service , highlight the required record, then select <F7> (Upd Params). The 'Service Detail' screen is displayed with the parameters of the service, allowing you to modify the available fields. The available fields differ depending on the service being updated. 7. To view the log of a particular system service , highlight the required service, then select <F9> (Show Log). When choosing to view the log file, a read-only text-editor shows the current contents of the file. The editor supports scrolling backwards and forward, however does not auto-refresh if the log changes while it is being viewed. 8. To monitor the status of a particular system service , highlight the required service, then select <Enter>. Pressing <Enter> to monitor the service produces different results depending on the service type. Refer to FAQ ' SYSSER: How do I determine if System Services are running? ' for further information.
