A lot is a specific batch of an item that you receive and store in your organisation. Lot control is a technique for enforcing the use of lot numbers during material transactions, thus enabling the tracking of batches of items throughout their movement in and out of inventory. FeatureLOT enables you to establish lot control for specific items in your organisation. You can receive Lot Controlled Products only if you have activated FeatureLOT . Please contact Sterland Computing if you wish to use this feature. To receive Lot controlled products, perform the following: 1. After you receipt a Purchase Order and select <F4>, any lot controlled products that you have received are displayed in the 'Received Stock Lot Control' window. 2. An asterisk indicates that you need to allocate some or all of the receipted quantity to lots. To allocate a product to a lot, move the cursor to the product, then select <F7> or <Enter>. 3. The top half of the ' New Lot'  screen displays the Branch number, the Number and UOM of the selected product.    4. Either select <Enter> to have the system automatically generate a lot number, or choose a lot number yourself.  Select <F3> to bring up a list of lot numbers which contain the product, move your cursor to the lot number, then select <F1> or <Enter>, otherwise type the lot number manually.     5. When you have allocated a quantity of the product to a valid lot, select <F1> or <Enter> to return to the 'Received Stock Lot Control' screen.  You cannot return until you have allocated all of the product's receipted quantity to lots.  The product you have just allocated longer has an asterisk and the allocated quantity appears in the 'Alloc' field. 6. Once you have allocated all of the receipted lot-controlled product to lots, select <F1> on the ' Received Stock Lot Control ' screen.
