| **QUESTION:** | SYS: How do I allow Promenu administration access? |
| **ANSWER:** | Specifically this means providing access to the restricted options in Promenu.
This is done by editing a unix file using the unix "vi" text editor. You first of all need to be logged in as a user that already has admin access, such as root or master, so that you can select Promenu option #10 Unix Shell. Then:
1. From the unix prompt, change to the Promenu directory and backup the mnu_security file, as follows:
**cd /prostix/bat/menu**
**cp -p mnu_security ****mnu_security.bak **
2. Edit the file using the ''vi" command:
**vi mnu_security**
3. Press **<Enter>** to get down to the line beginning 'ADM_USERS'
4. Press **A** (shift-a) to append to the end of the line
5. Type the new person's unix login name
6. Press **<Esc>** to escape from append mode
7. Type **':x'** to exit and save.
> Macro (nested-table)
Next time that user logs into the unix server, the restricted Promenu admin options should now be available.
If you accidentally mess up the mnu_security file, restore the backup version as follows:
**cp mnu_security.bak mnu_security** |
