Example 1: Future Review Dates The example below shows a contract that has monthly review dates that define when future price changes will be scheduled for this contract. As the overnight tasks runs to load future pricing onto the contract, the future prices will be scheduled for the most appropriate date. That is, when a supplier price change with an effective date of 1/8/14 is detected, a price change will be loaded onto the contract for 1/8/14. Example 2: Setting a lock period The example below shows the same contract with monthly review dates that define when future price changes will be scheduled for this contract. However, this contract has a ' Lock Period ' of 5 days defined. As the overnight tasks runs to load future pricing onto the contract, the future prices will be scheduled for the most appropriate date but if the system is within 5 days of the review date the price change will be pushed to the next review date. When the overnight task runs, if the date is within 5 days of the next review date, the ' Lock Date ' field will be populated. That is, for a supplier price change with an effective date of 1/8/14 is detected on the 29/7/14 the price change that would normally be loaded onto the contract for 1/8/14 is pushed back to the next review date, 1/9/14. Example 3: Importing Future Pricing The Contract Future Prices option can be accessed from the ProStix Main menu via Inventory Management then Special Pricing then Contract Import/Export . This will then display the Options menu as per screen prints below. Then select Contract Future Prices The Contract Future Prices Import screen will be displayed. The "File Name" field will be pre-populated with the standard import path. Add the import filename to the end of that path. In screen shot examples below the import file name contract_future.csv has been added to the default import path /ProStix/dmp/ Import File Format The import file format needs to contain the following fields. Note that the field names in bold are mandatory Contract Number , Review Date , Product Code , Future Unit Sell Price EX, Future Unit Cost Price EX, Future Discount %, Future GP %, Delete From Contract on next review Date Field Formats Contract Number = maximum 6 characters Review Date = format dd/mm/yy Product Code = maximum 15 characters - there is a condition on this field. If the product code is not found then the value in the import file will then be matched to product alternate code Future Unit Sell Price EX = number value to 2 decimal places Future Unit Cost Price EX = number value to 2 decimal places Future Discount % = number value to 2 decimal places Future GP % = number value to 2 decimal places Delete From Contract = logical field - value is either yes or no. In example below there is a product on a customer contract that has a GP% pricing rule. Note the Contract Review Dates values prior to updating via the Importing Future Prices option The file contract_future.csv is set up with format as per screen print below. Note that the fields for Future Unit Sell Price EX, Future Unit Cost Price EX, Future Discount % and Delete From Contract have all been left blank as we only want to update the GP% (based on the Procing Rule for this item. The file contract_future.csv is then imported via the Contract Future Prices option. Check on the Contract SP7659 and product code 02450018, after the import, shows the Contract Review Dates data has been correctly updated by the import Example 4: Preserving Contract Margin In the example below, with the new system flag ' InvContMgn ' set to ' yes ', when making changes to a contract upon exiting, you will be prompted with a new question: The way pricing is maintained on the contract will not change whenever the Pricing is not complete. However, once the pricing has been marked as ' Complete ' any further price changes can only be applied through the future pricing option at the bottom of the screen. When the price changes are applied, the previous pricing moves into the 'Previous Pricing' section of the screen.
