The deletion process is slow as it has a great deal of searching to do per product to determine its eligibility to be deleted. In an attempt to overcome this, the ' Product Group From/To' fields can be used to perform the purge on sections of the product file rather than the entire product file at once. This program allows you to purge those special products (that is, Product Type 7 - special products and Product Type 3 - run outs) from the Product Master File, where the purchase order for the product has been received to stock before the date specified and the customer order has been released for invoicing and delivery. To purge special products, perform the following: 1. From the ProStix Main Menu select 'System Administration' then 'File Purges' then 'Product Purge' . 2. The first screen displays a warning and allows you to type in the date prior to which all special products and/or run-out products will be purged. Refer to the 'Product Purge' collapsible link for a screenshot and an explanation of these options: 3. Select the to continue or select (Exit) to re type the purge date. 4. When the purge is complete, you are returned to the File Purges menu.
