Once the required User Groups have been created, you need to define which ProStix programs are going to be accessible within each User Group via Program Security Groups. To define the ProStix programs for each User Group, perform the following: 1. Identify which ProStix program/s or Frameworks report/s you want to allow a User Group to access, then select that option from within ProStix, then select <F8>. For example, select ‘ Sales Order Processing’ , then ‘ Order enquiry ’ as per screenshot, then select ‘F1/Enter’. The program name is displayed on the bottom of the screen – in this case ‘ ord130.p ’. This program name is then used to control access (refer to step 4 below). 2. Add the required ProStix program names to each User Group(s) by selecting ‘ System Administration ’, then ‘ Security ’, then ‘ Program Security ’. 3. From the ‘ Select Security Group ’ window, select the relevant Security Group to be updated (via the arrow up / down keys), then select the <enter> key. 4. All existing Programs and Frameworks Reports (by name) allocated to the Security Group are displayed via the ‘ Program List ’ window. 5. Select ‘ F6 Add ’ and then scroll to the required program or report (via the up/down arrow keys), then select the <spacebar> to add the required program/report name to the Security Group. An asterisk is placed beside the program. Once all required program/s are selected, select <F1> to save. 6. Certain programs provide additional security features that can be customised. These are available from 'F8 - Options ' if the option = ' Yes '. To maintain these, select the program, then select <F8>. Refer to 'Options with Program Security' collapsible link for further information. 7. If additional programs require these additional security features to be updated, select ’F7 Change ’, then modify as necessary (enter ‘ Yes ’ to restrict or leave as ‘ No ’ to leave unrestricted), then select <F1> to save. For example, a new program may have been added to the system that a particular group of users needs to have access to or you may need to prevent a user group from loading a program that it presently has access to. 8. To delete a program from a user group, place the cursor on the required group, then select <F5> .  Select <F5> to confirm. 9. The final step in the process is the allocation of required User Groups to each User ID. Refer to Allocation of User IDs to Security Groups - User Maintenance (CHUI) .
