This process explains how to setup GTINs for the selected Supplier of the product and understand how GTINs are used throughout the ProStix system. A Global Trade Identification Number (GTIN) is a code that uniquely identifies a package variant of a product using a single code, which is typically displayed as a barcode for scanning purposes. A GTIN barcode represents a product, the unit of measure and the package quantity from that supplier. For example, a single code would represent a box of 20 hammers. Scanning that barcode from within selected programs would determine the Product Code, Supplier, UOM and Conversion Factor of the scanned product. To setup GTINs for the selected supplier of the product, perform the following: 1.Follow steps 1 - 5 in process Suppliers (Maintain Supplier Data & Pricing) , then select option GTINs. or   From the ProStix Main Menu select 'Inventory Management' then 'Product Maintenance' then 'More Data' then ' Units of Measure ' . 2. If the GTINs table is empty it goes straight into 'Add' mode, otherwise select <F6> to Add. To change a GTIN, select <F7>. To delete a GTIN, select <F5>. 3.
