> ℹ️ :info:* Note*: If using PDA's to perform the count then as you scan the product being counted, Prostix records the frozen quantity at the point of scan. This allows a more accurate count to be performed (unless the same product is located in multiple locations), as the frozen quantities are recorded at the same time as the scan and there is little chance of a product being sold between the count and freeze (as the counted figure is entered at the time the product is scanned on the count screen).

> ℹ️ 1. From **the Batch Stock Take Options** menu, select **Maintain Stock Takes**.
> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ 2. Select the *branch*, then select the appropriate Stocktake from the **Batch Stock Takes** menu.

> ℹ️ *Note*: The existing Status is 'New'.

> ℹ️ 4. The new Status is now 'Frozen' (required when not using a PDA and a freeze of all products on the stock card is required).

> ℹ️ 5. The freeze takes a snap shot of the stock on hand balance of the product and cost price, so that this can be used when running variation reports at a later stage where counted versus frozen qty is compared.
