This facility allows you to maintain Maximum Discount Profiles that can then be assigned to users, who are not POS Supervisors, in POS Security Options. (From the  ProStix Main Menu  select  'System Administration'  then  'Security'  then   'Define Users') Rather than automatically give discounts on sales, users are assigned a maximum discount allowance per Product Group based on one of four discount levels. These discounts are only given once a price has been determined by the normal price hierarchy table and the price is still not satisfactory to the customer. The maximum discount levels are to be checked whenever the operator overrides a price or discount percentage. To  maintain Maximum Discount Profiles that can then be assigned to users, who are not POS Supervisors, in POS Security Options perform the following: 1. From the  ProStix Main Menu  select  'Inventory Management'  then  'Special Pricing'  then  'Maximum Discount Profiles Maintenance' . 2. When this option is selected, the user is presented with a list of the current Maximum Discount Profiles loaded into the system. 3. To delete a profile, use the <F5> Delete function key. 4. To add a new profile, use the <F6> Add function key. 5. To change the profile description, use the <F7> Change function key. 6. To change the details of an existing profile, highlight the profile and then select <Enter>: 7. You can then use the <F5> Delete, <F6> Add and <F7> Change function keys to add new Product Groups and their associated Discount Groups.
