**Flag/Setting Purpose: **Suppress generation of barcodes for new products 

- When enabled, new products created using **Product Maintenance** will not automatically generate a barcode number if the field is left unpopulated by the user.

- When disabled, new products created using **Product Maintenance** will automatically generate a barcode number based on the next available number in the database, if the user has left the field unpopulated.

> ⚠️ **Note:** When this flag is disabled, the next available barcode number to be assigned is held in the table\variable: **System Settings - Numeric → ItemNxtBar**.
