# ProdCustDescInv

**Flag Purpose:** Use Customer Friendly Description for Products - Invoice

The **ProdCustDescInv** flag controls whether Invoices display the product's **Customer Description** instead of the default product description. The **Customer Description** field is maintained in the **Product Maintenance** screen and accepts up to 300 characters. 

> ⚠️ This flag applies to XML-based printouts only.

- **When enabled,** the product's **Customer Description** is used as the product description on Invoices. If the **Customer Description** field is blank, the default product description is used on all stationery.
- **When disabled,** the default product description is displayed on Invoices.

**Related flags:** This flag is one of a set that controls where the **Customer Description** appears. Each flag controls a specific document or output: Order Confirmations (**ProdCustDescCnf**), Delivery Dockets (**ProdCustDescDel**), Labels (**ProdCustDescLbl**), Picking Slips (**ProdCustDescPsl**), Purchase Orders (**ProdCustDescPur**), Quotes (**ProdCustDescQte**) and the Trade Portal (**ProdCustDescTP**).
