# Overview

> Macro (excerpt)
>
> The **Stock Level Management (SLM)** feature has been designed to help you better manage your branch stock's minimum and maximum levels.
>
> **Important: **The Stock Level Management Module requires version 5.15 or newer.
>
> These minimum and maximum stock levels are calculated through the following process and then applied to each product via the [Stock Forecasting Update](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28391532) scheduled task:
>
> 1. Products are ranked based on their sales performance over the past 12 months.
> 2. The ranked products are then assigned to defined percentile groups and given a performance category.
> 3. The system calculates the average daily sales based on product sales over an assigned period.
> 4. The new minimum and maximum stock levels are calculated based on the **Min Days** and **Max Days** respectively assigned to each performance category
>
> The task can be scheduled to make the changes to your minimum and maximum stock levels as often as you need however this is typically run once a month.
>
> > ✅ Refer to [Min/Max Stock Calculation](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28412296) for more information.
>
> Once your product's branch stock minimum and maximum levels have been set, using the [Stock Reordering Scheduled Task](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28384718) you can automate the requisition process to provide you with more accurate recommendations. This ensures you are ordering the right amount of stock, maximising your dollar.

# The Stock Level Management Modules

## 1. Min/Max Forecasting

> Macro (excerpt)
>
> The **Min/Max Forecasting Maintenance **screen allow you to define the:
>
> - **Percentile groups** and **performance categories** to be applied to your products based on their sales performance rankings over the last 12 months.
> - **Minimum** and **Maximum Days** used to calculate the new minimum and maximum stock levels. A product's average daily sales figure is multiplied by the number of days defined in these fields
> - **Minimum Quantities **required to make sure that stocked products are always on hand. So, if the calculated value is less than the minimum quantity defined for the stock performance category the stock forecasting algorithm will overwrite a branch product's minimum or maximum quantities.
>
> The values defined here are then used by the Stock Forecasting Update scheduled task when the method **Days** is selected, to calculate and updated each products branch stock minimum and maximum levels.

> ✅ Refer to the [Min/Max Forecasting Maintenance](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28409312) User Manual for more information.

This can be included to account for any significant changes that may occur during a certain time of the year and applies to the minimum and maximum quantity of a product.
>
> The values defined here are then used by the Stock Forecasting Update scheduled task when the method **Seasonal** is selected, to calculate and updated each products branch stock minimum and maximum levels.
