# Overview

**Vehicle Maintenance** allows you to create and maintain Transport Order vehicles.

# <span style="color: #003366">Accessing Vehicle Maintenance</span>

To access Vehicle Maintenance and search for vehicles, from the perform the following:

1. Click **Frameworks **then navigate to **Central Allocations > Vehicle Maintenance **from the navigation tree.
2. In the **Search **field type the <span style="color: #333333">Supplier or Registration number then click </span>**Find**.

> ℹ️ <span style="color: #333333">Leave the search field blank and click </span>**Find**<span style="color: #333333"> to display all vehicles.</span>

<span style="color: #003366">Creating a new Vehicle Registration</span>

<span style="color: #333333">To create a vehicle to use within Vehicle Maintenance, perform the following:</span>

1. Click **New **on the bottom right of the screen.
2. The right side of the screen displays the fields to be completed to create a new vehicle. Enter the following information:
  
  1. Type the* vehicle registration ID* into the **Registration** field.
  2. Enable the **Compliant** checkbox if this vehicle is compliant with regulations and can be used.
  3. Enable the **Subcontractor** checkbox if the vehicle is owned by a sub-contractor.
  4. If a sub-contractor, search for **Find**, then select the **Supplier** of the vehicle.
  5. Enable the **Customer Owned** checkbox if the vehicle is owned by the customer.
  6. Search for **Finder **then select the **Home Branch** of the vehicle.

> ℹ️ - The *Registration* field will accept letters or numbers up to a maximum of 8 values. Any registration entered in lowercase will be automatically converted to capitals.
> ℹ️ - Do not enable **Subcontractor** if the vehicle is owned by your business.
> ℹ️ - Supplier is mandatory if the **Subcontractor** check box is enabled.

3. Click **Save**.
4. Continue on with [Vehicles Maintenance#config](https://kb.myframeworks.com.au/space/FRAM/610436048/Vehicles+Maintenance#Creating-a-new-Vehicle-Registration).

# <span style="color: #003366">Maintaining an existing Vehicle Registration</span>

<span style="color: #333333">To search for and maintain existing Vehicle Registrations, perform the following:</span>

1. In the **Search** field enter the vehicle registration Id, then click **Find**.
2. Click the relevant **Registration** link to view and edit details for that vehicle. The top section on the right side of the screen displays the vehicle details to maintain.

> ⚠️ You are NOT able to update the *Registration* field. 3. Update the available fields as per [Vehicles Maintenance#create](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28410582/Vehicles+Maintenance#%5BinlineExtension%5DCreating-a-new-Vehicle-Configuration), then click **Save**.

<span style="color: #003366">Creating a new Vehicle Configuration</span>

<span style="color: #333333">To create a new Vehicle Configuration to use within Vehicle Maintenance, perform the following:</span>

1. <span style="color: #333333"> Click </span>**New Configuration**<span style="color: #333333">.</span>

> ℹ️ <span style="color: #333333">The </span>**<span style="color: #333333">Vehicle ID</span>**<span style="color: #333333"> is automatically populated based on a combination of the</span>*<span style="color: #333333"> Vehicle Registration No</span>*<span style="color: #333333"> and the </span>*<span style="color: #333333">Configuration</span>*<span style="color: #333333"> short code and will display after these fields have been populated.</span>

2. Type a* description of the vehicle* as appropriate in the **Description** field.
3. Select the *vehicle configuration type* via the drop-down arrow in the **Configuration** field.
4. Enable the **Default **checkbox if this is to be used as the default vehicle configuration.

> ℹ️ Only one configuration can be the default for each registered vehicle.

5. Enable the **Allow Scheduling** checkbox if you want to select this vehicle in [Transport Scheduling ](https://kb.myframeworks.com.au/space/FRAM/7373187/Transport+Scheduling)and to allocate it to selected [Runsheet Maintenance](https://kb.myframeworks.com.au/space/FRAM/494632984/Runsheet+Maintenance).
6. Enter *the gross weight of the vehicle (measured in tonnes)* in the **Gross Weight (TN) **field. The *Load Capacity* is then automatically calculated (Gross Weight - Tare Weight).

> ℹ️ The *Gross Weight* is the maximum operating weight/mass of a vehicle as specified by the manufacturer including the vehicle's chassis, body, engine, engine fluids, fuel, accessories, driver, passengers and cargo but excluding that of any trailers.

7. Type* the weight of the unloaded vehicle (measured in tonnes)* in the **Tare Weight (TN) **field.

> ℹ️ The Tare Weight is the weight of an empty vehicle or container. This field is mandatory if the 'Allow Scheduling' check box is ticked.

8. Click **Save** to commit the changes.
9. Repeat steps for all vehicle configurations.

# <span style="color: #003366">Maintaining an existing Vehicle Configuration</span>

<span style="color: #333333">To maintain an existing Vehicle Configuration to use within Vehicle Maintenance, perform the following:</span>

1. In the **Search** field enter the vehicle registration Id, then click **Find**.
2. The right side of the screen displays the vehicle configurations to maintain.

> ℹ️ Scroll to the right of the screen if needed to view the edit icon.

3. Click the **Pencil **icon beside the vehicle configuration you would like to maintain.
4. Update the available fields as per [Vehicles Maintenance#config](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28410582/Vehicles+Maintenance#Maintaining-an-existing-Vehicle-Configuration) , then click **Save**.

> ⚠️ You are **not **able to update the *Registration* field. <span style="color: #003366">Deleting existing Vehicle Registrations</span>

To delete existing Vehicle Registrations, perform the following:

1. In the **Search** field enter the vehicle registration Id, then click **Find**.
2. Click **Delete **then **Yes-Perform Delete** to delete the vehicle registration from being used in Transport Orders.

> ⚠️ You are not able to delete vehicle registrations or vehicle configurations that are in use on any runsheet. The following message will appear:

<span style="color: #003366">Deleting existing Vehicle Configurations</span>

To delete existing Vehicle Configurations, perform the following:

1. In the **Search** field enter the vehicle registration Id, then click **Find**.
2. The right side of the screen displays the vehicle configurations you are able to delete.

> ℹ️ Scroll to the right of the screen if needed to view the delete icon.

3. Click the **Delete **icon beside the vehicle configuration you would like to delete.
4. Click **Delete** then **Yes-Perform Delete** to delete the vehicle registration from being used in Transport Orders.

> ⚠️ You are not able to delete vehicle registrations or vehicle configurations that are in use on any runsheet. The following message will appear:
