# Overview

When logging into Frameworks, users are allocated to a device. The default device ID used is determined by the user's home branch. By default, this is the '**roam**' device for that user's home branch.

A user may need to log into another defined device to:

- Use specific printers by default
- Make POS transactions to another till
- Pick up attributes of any other device

Devices are created and maintained in **Device Maintenance**.
