# Overview

 The **Pick Alert** function allows you to tagged a Product with a customisable message. This message will appear in the [Sales Order Maintenance](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28408932), [Pick and Release](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/fwksproau/pages/30528860) and [Purchase Orders Maintenance](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28384676) maintenance screens. To configure the Pick Alert messages for your inventory the following is required:

# Define Attributes

You will need to define new **Product attributes** to be applied to the products you would like the **Pick Alert**, to do this perform the following.

> <span style="color: #333333">Click </span>**Frameworks **<span style="color: #333333">then navigate to </span>**System Administration > System Tables > Define Attributes** <span style="color: #333333">from the navigation tree.</span>

> <span style="color: #333333">From the </span>**Type**<span style="color: #333333"> drop-down menu select </span>**Products**<span style="color: #333333"> and click </span>**Add**<span style="color: #333333">.</span>
> 
> > Macro (rw-step)
> 
> Create the following new **Product Attributes**.
> 
> - **Category:** Enter **PickAlert **
> - **Field: **Enter **branch-0**
> 
> > ℹ️ Defining the **Field **as **branch-0 **allows a defined alert message to be displayed for all branches. If you have multiple branches and require a branch specific alert messages create other **PickAlert** categories with **branch-*****branchId***, for example, branch-10 will only display the alert message for products on orders for branch 10.

# Applying the Attribute to Products

Once the attribute has been created you will need to then add the picking alert message to your products. To do this perform the following.

> <span style="color: #333333">Click </span>**Frameworks **<span style="color: #333333">then navigate to </span><span style="color: #333333">**System Administration > System Tables > Attribute Maintenance **</span><span style="color: #333333">form the navigation tree.</span>

> <span style="color: #333333">From the </span>**Type**<span style="color: #333333"> drop-down menu select </span>**Products**<span style="color: #333333"> and in the </span>**Product **<span style="color: #333333">field enter or search for the product Id you want to add the attributes and details too.</span>

> <span style="color: #333333">Click </span>**Find **<span style="color: #333333">to view the products existing attributes</span>

> Click **Add **to add the required:
> 
> - **Category**: Enter **PickAlert **or click **Search **to search for the category.
> - **ID**: Enter **branch-0 **for alert messages to be displayed for all branches or enter the branch specific id as defined above.
> - **Value**: Enter the pick alert message to be displayed in the [Sales Order Maintenance](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28408932), [Pick and Release](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/fwksproau/pages/30528860) and [Purchase Orders Maintenance](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28384676) maintenance screens.

> > ℹ️ If required, Multiple pick alert messages can be added to a single product.

> Click **Save **to apply the new attribute to the product
