When setting the prices for future dated quotes/orders/jobs, the program goes through the following hierarchy to work out what price it should apply to the order:

If the flag **OrdFPrice** is enabled and the delivery date for the Sales Order, Quote or Job being typed is equal to or greater than your future price date, then the system uses the relevant future cost and sell price.

If a future Preferred Supplier Cost exists where a sell results – use it. This is determined as follows:

- The following flags must be enabled.
 - **InvAFPDSup**
 - **InvResetB**
 - **InvReset**
- The relevant Product Master File record is then checked for the values set on the **Retain GP Up** and **Retain GP Down** fields in the Product-Cost Pricing option.
 - If the future cost is a decrease check for 'Retain GP Down' = **'active',** and if it is an increase check for 'Retain GP Up' = **'active'.** If the relevant field is enabled, then use the product's GP to work out the new future Standard Sell (if 'InvReset' is set to **'active')** and/or, the new future Branch Sell (if 'InvResetB' is set to **'active').**
 - If the relevant field is set to **'inactive'** then inactive future sell will result. (*inactive*: When the 'Future Price Apply' is run it leaves the current sell unchanged and updates the GP accordingly).
 - If inactive future sell results from a future supplier cost, use any future branch sell.
 - If inactive future branch sell use any future branch cost loading and apply it to any applicable future Standard cost. Then check the 'Retain GP Up' and 'Retain GP Down' fields in the Product-Cost Pricing option in Product Maintenance. If the future cost is a decrease check for 'Retain GP Down' = **'active',** and if it is an increase check for 'Retain GP Up' = **'active'.** If the relevant field is set to **'active'** then use the product's GP to work out the branch future sell. If the relevant 'Retain GP' field is set to **'inactive'** then inactive branch future sell results.
 - If inactive future branch cost loading, use any current branch cost loading and apply it to any applicable future Standard cost. If the relevant 'Retain GP field' is set to **'inactive'** then inactive branch future sell results.
 - If inactive future branch sell use current branch sell.
 - If inactive current branch sell use future standard sell.
 - If inactive future standard sell use the current standard sell.

# Re-pricing Option

There is a [Repricing a Sales Order](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/fwksproau/pages/30526602) option within Sales Order Processing, which when selected allows the Order to be re-priced to use Future prices based on the Order Delivery Date.

When this new option is selected, a screen appears to allow the user to Re-price the order using future prices.
The 'Date' field defaults to the delivery date stored on the Header of the Order.

Here the user may enter a future date and the order is re-priced according to the prices that would be applicable at that date, however it can be no greater than the current delivery date.

## Discount Group Re-pricing

If re-pricing the order using the 'Discount Group' option within [Repricing a Sales Order](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/fwksproau/pages/30526602) and a future delivery line date exists for a product or products on the order where a future discount exists, the re-pricing program re-prices the order using the future discount percentage rather than the current discount.

## Contract Re-pricing

If you use the 'Contract' re-pricing option within [Repricing a Sales Order](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/fwksproau/pages/30526602), it checks the delivery line date for each product on the order. If it finds a future date it then checks for a future contract price for the contract on the order. If it finds a future contract price it re-prices the order using that future price rather than the current contract price. For more information on future contract pricing see the section under 'Future Contract Maintenance'.

> ✅ Refer to [Contracts Access and Maintenance](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/fwksproau/pages/30507326) and [Contract Future Price Review](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28405466) for more information.

# Changing the Delivery Date

If the Delivery Date on the Order is changed from a future date to a current date, any future priced products that exist on the order are NOT re-priced, however any additional products keyed onto the Order are based on current prices. This rule also applies if you change the delivery date on the order from a Current date to a Future date. In this case any items entered while the date was a current date would pick up current pricing and any additional items typed after the date was changed to the future date would be priced at future prices.

When creating a backorder, settings allow for the reprice of the back order based on the delivery date selected.

Repricing will not occur when the delivery date has been changed by less than the number of days specified by '**OrdDelDTol**'

## Delivery Date Scenarios

> ℹ️ Assumption: Feature code** FUT** and **OrdFPrice** are both active.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ Where no delivery date is entered in the Order, the product entry field is unavailable for entry until such time as a delivery date is entered.

| **Scenario** | **Conditions** |
| --- | --- |
| When entering a product where the delivery date is already past the effective date of a future price, the future price only applied if: | Product has a future price of either standard or branch type
Either InvAFPSStd OR InvAFPDBrn must be active |
| When changing a delivery date on an order past the effective date of a future price AFTER a product has been added, the price change occurs if: | Product has a future price of either standard or branch type
**OrdFPriceDtChg =** active
Either **InvAFPSStd** OR **InvAFPDBrn** must be active
Date has been changed by **>= OrdDelDTol** value |
| When changing the delivery date past the effective date of a future price for a backorder within the Pick Release Backorder popup, the price change occurs if: | Product has a future price available
Effective date has been changed by **>= OrdDelDTol** value
**OrdFPriceBOrder** = active
And where either:
**InvAFPSStd** = active AND future price type is **Standard**, OR
**InvAFPDBrn** = active AND future price type is **Branch ** |
| Where the order is released BEFORE the delivery date set on the Order, the price change occurs if: | The effective date is set past the Order Delivery Date
AND the delivery date is changed by **>= OrdDelDTo** value |

# Copying Orders/ Quotes and Jobs

If you select to copy an existing Order/Quote or Job, the date entered on the new Order/Quote or Job is considered and re-priced accordingly.

# Releasing the Order

When releasing future dated orders the number of tolerance days (see Integer 'OrdDelDTol' for more information) is compared to the number of days between the release date and the order line delivery date for each future priced product on the order. If that comparison is within the tolerance days then the order is not re-priced, but if it is outside the tolerance days, then the future priced products concerned will be re-priced to current prices.

# Promotions

Future promotions are also considered if the delivery date on the Purchase Order falls within the duration of the promotion selected.

# Use of Contracts

If a contract is used on a future dated Quote, Sales Order or Job, and the 'InvAFPDCon' flag is set to **'yes',** future contract prices are considered.

Additionally, contracts which are future dated will now be available for selection in the contract finder within the reprice option, if the delivery date is set within the date range of the contract. These contract can only be manually selected and will not automatically apply if they are auto-select contracts.

## Contract Scenarios

| **Scenario** | **Conditions** |
| --- | --- |
| Future contracts are available for selection in the contract finder if: | OrdFPrice is active
InvAFPDCon is active |
| Future contracts are available for selection in the contract finder when the delivery date is equal to or between [contract start sate - contract end date] | Example: delivery date = contract start date
OR
delivery date between contract starts and contract end. |

# Purchase Order Processing

If the '**InvFPrice**' flag is enabled > Macro (inline-media-image)

and the delivery date for the Purchase Order being typed is equal to or greater than your future price date, then the system uses the relevant future cost price.

The cost is determined by using the following hierarchy:

1. If a future supplier cost exists – use it.
2. If no future supplier cost, use the current supplier cost.
3. If no supplier cost use any future branch cost.
4. If no branch cost use current branch cost.
5. If no branch cost use future standard.
6. If no future standard use current standard.
