Click **Frameworks, **then navigate to **Inventory > Maintenance > Product Maintenance **from the navigation tree. 2. Search and select the product you wish to make the Kit Header product, or create a new product as per [Creating a New Product](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/fwksproau/pages/30509628). > ℹ️ To create a **Template Kit** (or a "Kit on the Fly") ensure that the **Product Type** is defined as **Template. **This can be done at the time of creation, editing the key details section or when [Maintain Kits ](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28409362). > ℹ️ For Kits where the Cost and Sell of the Kit Header is going to be copied from the Sum of the Component Cost and Sum of the Component Sell, the Retain GP Up and Down flags must be unticked within the** Key Details **section of product Maintenance. > ℹ️ > ℹ️ ![image](media://e1e034c4-7d71-4c49-9fb5-7593444b2e5b) > ⚠️ **A kit header cannot be a parent product. ** > ⚠️ > ⚠️ While a parent product cannot be used as a kit header when creating a kit, it can be included as a kit component—provided it is flagged as Independently Traded. 3. From within the **General Information** section enable Kit Header to make the product a Kit Header product. Click **Save **once ticked to display the Kit button. 4. You can now proceed to creating your kit either via the **Kit **button to the right of the Kit Header tick box, or via the [Maintain Kits ](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28409362)menu. > ℹ️ Once the [Maintain Kits ](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28409362)screen is opened from the **Kit Type **drop-down menu you will need to select if the kit is an **Exploding, Non-Exploding **or **Template **kit. # Additional Information > ✅ Refer to [Maintain Kits ](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28409362)for additional information.
