# Accessing Min/Max Forecasting Maintenance

To access **Min/Max Forecasting Maintenance**, complete the following:

1. Click **Frameworks **and navigate to **Inventory** > **Stock Level Management** > **Min/Max Forecasting Maintenance** from the navigation tree.
2. Select a branch or **All Branches** from the **Branch** dropdown menu and click **Find **to return your desired forecast(s).

# Navigating Min/Max Forecasting Maintenance

The **Min/Max Forecasting Maintenance** screen is made up of 4 main sections:

1. Search field
2. Search results grid
3. Forecast details
4. Command buttons

## 1. Search Field

If given access, select a branch from the **Branch** dropdown menu or select **All Branches** and click **Find **to return your desired forecast(s).

## 2. Search Results Grid

The results grid contains your desired forecast(s) that belong to the selected branch. Click the **Branch** hyperlink to view and manage the forecast details.

## 3. Forecast Details

Contains the details of the currently selected forecast including the assigned performance categories and their weighting. From here you can perform the following:

- Change the **Forecasting Method** using the dropdown menu.
- Click **Add **to add a new performance category.
- Click **Remove **to remove the currently selected performance category from the forecast.
- Click any row to modify the editable fields if necessary.

| **Forecasting Method** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| **Std Min/Max Days** | Products are ranked based on their sales history, assigned to percentile groups and given a performance category. This is then used to calculate the new min/max stock levels for each product. |
| **By Product Group** | Similar to **Std Min/Max Days** but the percentiles are assigned per product group. So, each performance category is made up of the assigned percentage of each product group. |

| **Field** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| **Ranking** | Ranking of performance categories, 1 being the highest selling category. |
| **Ranking %** | Determines the percentage of products that this performance category represents. Before exiting, you will be forced to ensure that the ranking percentages add to a total of 100%. |
| **Perf Category** | The performance category separated by speed of product sales. |
| **Description** | A description of the performance category. |
| **Min Days** | When determining a new minimum stock level for a product, an average daily sales figure is multiplied by the number of days defined in the **Min Days** field to generate a new suggested minimum stock level. |
| **Max Days** | When determining a new maximum stock level for a product, an average daily sales figure is multiplied by the number of days defined in the **Max Days** field to generate a new suggested maximum stock level. |
| **Min Qty** | The stock forecasting algorithm will overwrite a branch product's minimum or maximum quantity if the calculated value is less than the minimum quantity defined against the relevant stock performance category. This makes sure that stocked products are always on hand. |

## 4. Command Buttons

Explore the sections below to learn more about the command buttons:

### 1. Save Button

Click **Save **to finalise any changes made to the currently open forecast.

### 2. Cancel Button

Click **Cancel **to abandon any changes made to the currently open forecast.

### 3. Close Button

Click **Close **to close the **Min/Max Forecasting Maintenance** screen.
