# <span style="color: #172b4d">Overview</span>

This utility creates any missing branch product records. Here you can define the list of branches and product group ranges that missing records should created for. Basically the utility can be used to link the product to a branch.

For example, a product might have been created but the user who created them did not link them to a branch. Hence the Product is missing the branch record. If the user then tries to search the product via the dashboard this product is not searchable.

This utility can then be used to resolve that e.g. all product group X to be linked to Branch A etc. Which means the product can now be stocked from the branch. It will search products in that group where it has no branch record and allocate accordingly.

Another example it is used is that you may have a product that normally stocked in Branch A but now will stock it in 5 other branches. This utility can be used to allocate the branches.

# <span style="color: #172b4d">Running the Generate Branch Product Records Utility</span>

To create the missing branch product records, perform the following:

> Click **Frameworks **and navigate to **Inventory > Utilities & Scheduled Tasks > Generate Branch Product Records** from the navigation tree.
>

> 
> From the **Report Criteria **tab enter the requirements for which **Branch**/s and **Product Group**/s you required to generate any missing Branch Product Records for.

> From here you can:
> 
> - Tick the **Exclude Special** **Products** checkbox to bypass any special product within the Branch list and product groups selected.
> - Enter a Branch ID or ID's, separated by commas, into the** Branch List **field to define which branches the missing records will be created for. Use the ***** key to apply to all branches.
> - ** Product** **Group** **From and To **fields to define which products the missing records will be created for. This will default to all product groups
> 
> > ℹ️ When generating Branch Product Records for one product group ensure you add the product group to both the **From** and **To** fields.
> 
> > ⚠️ For the Branch Product Record to be generated the Branch must be defined and the product must be in the the specified product groups. Non Trading branches will be bypassed.
> 
> > Macro (rw-step)
> 
> Go to the **Schedule** tab to schedule the task as required and then click **Submit **to run the task.

> <span style="color: #333333">If you run the task immediately, the </span>**Output **<span style="color: #333333">tab displays the results of the completed task and you can click on the reports generated. If run later, the </span>[Task Scheduler Queue](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28405088/Scheduler+Administration#%5BinlineExtension%5DTask-Scheduler-Queue)<span style="color: #333333"> contains the output.</span>
