The Frameworks** General Ledger **module can be customised to meet your business's specific needs. In order to do this various system settings and flag are required to be defined turn on or off different <span style="color: #333333">functionality</span>.

> ⚠️ **Important**: Only users with the appropriate security access can make changes to the system tables.

# System Settings - Flags

The following system flags are related to all areas of the General ledger.

## FWJourPnt

**Flag Purpose**: Default for Printing a Journal

- When enabled, the **Journal Print **checkbox will be enabled, by default, on the [Journal Entry Dashboard](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28383350) screen.
- When disabled, the **Journal Print **checkbox will be disabled, by default, on the [Journal Entry Dashboard](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28383350) screen.

> ℹ️ You can adjust the default setting for a [Journal Entry Dashboard](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28383350) transaction prior to posting.

## GLAnalysisCodeReq

**Flag Purpose:** Mandatory analysis code entry on GL journals.

The **GLAnalysisCodeReq** flag controls whether an analysis code must be entered on General Ledger journal lines for accounts that have analysis codes registered against them in Analysis Account Maintenance. This flag applies system-wide across all companies in the Frameworks instance.

- **When enabled,** analysis codes are mandatory on journal lines where the GL account has registered analysis codes. Only analysis codes registered against that specific GL account are accepted. This is the default behaviour.
- **When disabled,** analysis codes are optional on all GL journal lines. Any valid analysis code can be entered on a journal line regardless of whether it is registered against the GL account, and lines with no analysis code are accepted without error.

## GLCompanyBank1

**Flag/Setting Purpose: **Disallow the use of Company's Bank 1 Account on General Ledger entry.

- When enabled, this will prevent using the Company's Bank 1 Account in the General Ledger for Journal Entries.
- When disabled, users can enter in Company Bank Account 1 as both a Credit and Debit into the Journal Entry.

> ℹ️ GLCompanyBank1 is disabled by default.

# System Settings - Numeric

The following system numeric settings are related to all area's of the General ledger.

## FWGlWrnDays

**Setting Purpose**: Provide warning on GL journal invoices dated outside the number of days

- In the **Values **field enter the number of days a journal entry can be outside if todays date is less than OR exceeds the number of days specified. A a warning message *"Back Dating of Journal Date is over nn days"* will be displayed.
