This document will outline of the most common considerations when configuring the **Honeywell Scanpal EDA51**. These considerations are related to access, usability and getting the most out of the screen space and the following should be considered:

- Display settings
- Keyboard settings
- Scanner Settings
- Home screen Icon

## Specifications

Recommended Minimum requirements:

## Device Settings

### Navigate to Settings

There are typically 2 ways you can access the **Setting** app:

1. **Swipe up** on the settings to view all the app on your device and press the **Settings **icon.
2. **Swipe down** and press the settings **cog** at the top of the screen.

### Adjust the Display Settings

To adjust the display settings, from the settings main page:

1. Press **Display.**
2. Select **Advanced.**
3. Adjust the following size settings:
  1. **Font Size** to be **Default**
  2. **Display Size** to be **Small.**

## Scanner Settings

The scanners should be configured to add a "tab" character to the end of each barcode that they scan. This "tab" character then ensures that the cursor is then moved to the next field ready for entry.

1. On the device go to **Settings > Honeywell Settings > Scan Settings > Internal Scanner > Default Profile**
2. Go to **Data Processing Settings **and define the following:
  - **Suffix:** Set to be **\t**
  - **Wedge as key**: Set this to be **3,9,10,13**
3. Go to **Symbology Settings** and enable to following:
  - **UPC-A > Send check digit**: Enabled
  - **EAN-13 > Send check digit**: Enabled

## Creating a Desktop Shortcut

Once you have tested your Frameworks URL in the Google Chrome browser, to get the most our screen space and easily access your Frameworks we recommend creating a home screen icon.

To do this perform the following:

1. Click **Google Chrome** Browser to open and run the **Chrome **web browser.

> ℹ️ This is typically installed by default on and Android device. If not you will need to use the devices app store to install it.

2. In the **Address bar, **enter your Frameworks login URL (Example: [https://sterweb.sterland.com/{instace}/Fluid.html/](https://sterweb.sterland.com/{instace}/Fluid.html/)).

> ℹ️ - When typing the address to get the **:** key, on the keyboard, select: **?123**, then: **!?#**
> ℹ️ - If required additional URL Parameters can be added to your Frameworks URL allowing Frameworks to be opened up using optimised settings for your particular device (Example: ?skin=Tahoe&device=tablet&useMobile=False&fontIncrease=2).

3. Once on the login page of your Frameworks in the top right-hand corner of the screen press the 3-dot menu () and select **Add to Home Screen. **When prompted click **Add**.
4. Close Chrome and click on the newly created **Frameworks **Icon to open Frameworks with no URL Address Bar at the top of the screen.
