## Windows Settings

The following settings will help you get the most out of Frameworks while you are using a Surface Go.

> ⚠️ Any network settings, such as Wi-Fi access and VPN setup, will need to be configured as normal with the help of your IT provider.

The display settings are defined by navigating to **Settings > System > Display. **The following are recommended.
  1. **Scale and layout: **Set this to be **150% (Recommend)**. This is typically the default setting.

## Browser Settings

> ℹ️ We recommend using the **Edge **browser for the Surface Go.

When using Frameworks with Microsoft Edge the consider using the following setting to work in hand with the above windows settings.

### 1. Set your Default Zoom

For a good balance between best screen space and minimal scroll bars set your default zoom leave in Edge to be 80%. You can do this by:

- Click  in the top right of the browser and then select **Settings.**
- In **Settings** select **Appearance **
- Under **Customize browser** use the **Zoom** drop-down menu to select **80%**
- This automatically saves, so just clos the settings tab.

### 2. Use Full Screen Mode

One you have opened up Frameworks, using your shortcut to get the most out of your screen size we recommend running Frameworks in **Full Screen** mode.

- To enter full screen press **F11** on your keyboard OR
- Click  in the top right of the browser and then click  to enter full screen.

> ℹ️ To exit full screen, swipe down from the top of press F11.

## Framework URL Parameter Recommendations

When using Frameworks on a Surface Go device the following URL Parameters should be considered to be used with your Frameworks login URL:

| Parameter | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **?skin=Tahoe&device=tablet&useMobile=true&fontIncrease=3** | This will used use the Frameworks Tahoe skin in tablet mode. With the parameter **useMobile=true** the tab functionality will be turned off for more screen space. |
| **?skin=Tahoe&device=tablet&useMobile=false&fontIncrease=3** | This will used use the Frameworks Tahoe skin in tablet mode. With the parameter **useMobile=false **Frameworks will behave as on a desktop. |

> ℹ️ Play around with the **fontIncrease** value. This changes the size of the text within frameworks. We think 3 as it is good balance between best screen space and minimal scroll bars.

## Creating a Desktop Shortcut

Once you have tested the best Frameworks URL parameters for you, the easiest way to access your Frameworks is to create a desktop icon.

To do this perform the following:

1. Right-click or press and hold on your desktop.
2. From the popup menu select **New > Shortcut.**

In the** Type the location if the item **field enter your Frameworks login URL (eg: [https://sterweb.sterland.com/{instace}/Fluid.html/](https://sterweb.sterland.com/{instace}/Fluid.html/)) followed by one of the recommended parameters (eg: ?skin=Tahoe&device=tablet&useMobile=False&fontIncrease=2).
4. Once the URL/address has been added click **Next.**
5. Enter a name for the shortcut and click **Finish **to add the desktop

When in full screen mode the following gestures may also assist you.
