# Overview

Plant Maintenance allows you to create and maintain production scheduling plants. Plants provide a way of estimating up costing rates per task required in the production scheduling process. When calculating the total cost of production, these defined 'allowances' for overheads will be automatically added to the estimate based on which plant has been added to a standard task.

Refer to the below sections for information on how to create and maintain Production Plants.

# Creating a Plant

To create a new plant, perform the following:

1. Click **Frameworks** then type **Plant Maintenance or navigate to Production Scheduling - Maintenance - Plant Maintenance. **

> ℹ️ By default, any existing plants are automatically loaded.

2. Click **Add** to add a new manufacturing plant. You can enter the following information by using the <tab> key to move across fields:

| --- | --- |
| **Code** | Enter a unique code to identify the plant |
| **Description** | Add a description for the plant |
| **Labour Rate** | <span style="color: #384047">Type the rate to be used for this calculation. This field is used to calculate the cost of factory labour in relation to job production.</span> |
| **Factory Overhead** | <span style="color: #384047">Type the rate to be used for this calculation. This field is used to calculate the cost of factory overheads in relation to job production. This is not a percentage rate.  </span> |
| **Labour On-Cost** | <span style="color: #384047">Type the rate to be used for this calculation.  This field is used to calculate additional labour on costs in relation to job production, such as holiday loading & Sick Leave.</span> |
| **MFG On-Cost** | <span style="color: #384047">Type the rate to be used for this calculation. This field is used to calculate manufacturing on costs in relation to job production. This is not a percentage rate.  </span> |
| **Detail On-Cost** | <span style="color: #384047">This field is used to calculate detail on costs in relation to job production.  Type the rate that is to be used for this calculation.  This is not a percentage rate.  </span> |
| **Loading On-Cost** | Enter the rate to be used for this calculation. This field is used to calculate Loading on costs in relation to job production. This is not a percentage rate. |
| **Delivery On-Cost** | Enter the rate to be used for this calculation. This field is used to calculate delivery on costs in relation to job production. This is not a percentage rate. |

3. Press **Save** to once all details have been entered.

# Maintaining a Plant

To maintain an existing plant, perform the following:

1. Click **Frameworks** then type **Plant Maintenance or navigate to Production Scheduling - Maintenance - Plant Maintenance. **
2. Click on the plant line, the fields will become available automatically for editing. Move from field to field using the <tab> key to update the required information.

> ⚠️ The line # and Code fields are not available for editing, to change these you will need to remove the plant altogether via the **Remove **button then re-enter the plant using the preferred code.

3. Press "Save" once the required changes have been made.

# Deleting a Plant

To delete a plant, perform the following:

1. Click **Frameworks** then type **Plant Maintenance or navigate to Production Scheduling - Maintenance - Plant Maintenance. **
2. Click on the plant line you wish to delete, then press **Remove**.

> ⚠️ If you attempt to remove a plant this is attached to a task (in Standard Task Maintenance), you will warn that the system is unable to remove the plant:

3. To remove the plant, you will need to go into [Standard Task Maintenance](https://kb.myframeworks.com.au/space/FRAM/610598916/Standard+Task+Maintenance), and select a new plant Code for each task using the plant code you wish to delete:
