> # Overview
>
> When adding products to a customer's sales transaction, Frameworks finds the "best" price for the customers for each product, without the need for your staff to search for it. Your business might have individual or national contract pricing for your customers, various promotions running, discount for specific customer groups and product volume discounts. With all these different pricing methods in use, what happens if more than one is trigged? All the pricing methods are run through the **Pricing Hierarchy **table to find the "best" price for the customer.
>
> > ℹ️ When searching for products, you will see the Recommended Retail Price. When adding the product, you will always be shown the Customer's Price.
>
> # How Does the Pricing Hierarchy Work?
>
> The pricing hierarchy table is defined into a priority sequence of Pricing Methods (see below) to match the pricing rules of your business. Each time a product is added to a customer's sales transaction Frameworks reads sequentially through the pricing hierarchy table to find the "best" price for the customer for that product. It will read through the entire table unless it hits a pricing method that has been marked as "don't continue" at which point Frameworks will look no further.
>
> **Example**:
>
> If the **Standard Default Contracts **and **Auto-Select Contracts **have been marked as "don't continue", and a customer has a default customer contract applied to them, no further checking of the pricing methods will occur even if there is a better price for the product based on a pricing method further in the sequence of the pricing hierarchy table.
>
> If a new customer is selected for a sale or a different promotion or contract is applied then the product pricing will adjust accordingly, unless a manual price override is applied to a transaction line.
>
> > ℹ️ - If a pricing method is NOT related to a selected product or customer then the pricing method will be skipped and the next method will be applied.
> > ℹ️ - If NO pricing method is applicable then the retail price will be applied.

> # The Pricing Methods
