The **Customer Groups** option allows you to create and maintain Customer Groups or store locations within a customer's Frameworks system.

A customer group is a way of grouping like customers together for the purpose of analysing sales and applying discounting at the Customer Group level. For example, project builders, builders, plumbers and so on.

To create a **Customer Group**, from the home **Dashboard** perform the following:

1. Select **Customer Groups** from within the **System Administration** navigation tree.

2. Click on the **Add** button to create a new Customer Group.

3. Use your <tab> key to move through the fields and add relevant information. The following link provides you with a screenshot and a description of the information you may enter when creating a customer group.

| **Field** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| **Customer Group** | Type the Customer Group code. This is a required field, and the code should be unique. |
| **Description** | Type the Discount Group description. This is a required field. |
| **Discount Group** | Select the default Discount Group to apply to the selected Customer Group via the **Search **button**. **A discount group typed on the Customer Master File may price over-ride this default depending on the price hierarchy table set up |

4. Click **Save** to save your changes.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to add multiple customer groups.

6. To modify, click on the appropriate customer group to be updated. Use your <tab> key to move through the fields and make the necessary updates. Click **Save** to save your changes.

7. To delete a customer group, highlight the appropriate customer group, then click the **Remove** button.

> ⚠️ When attempting to delete a Customer Group where at least one customer is associated with it, the following error message appears:
