The **Change Product Codes **function allows you to change the **Product Numbers**, for selected products across your database. This can be done by manually entering in the old and new product numbers, one at a time, as well as importing a .csv file with the old and new product numbers.

> ❌ Confirm that you have selected the correct product as this task will results in permanent changes to the Product Master File.

## Screen Access

1. Click **Frameworks **then navigate to **Inventory > Utilities & Scheduled Tasks > Change Product Codes** from the navigation tree.

# Product Codes Tab

The **Product Codes** tab is where you define which product codes to change.

### Manually adding the changes

1. In the **Change Product From** field enter in the product code, of the product want to change or click **Search **to open the product finder to select the product.
2. On the **Change To** field enter in the new product code.
3. Click **Add **to add the changes the **Pending Product Changes** grid.

### Importing a .csv of changes

1. Click **Upload CSV **and **choose the file** required.
2. Click the** Upload **button.
3. Once the .csv file has been up uploaded next to **Import File:** it will display the filename that was uploaded, and the product code changes will in the **Pending Product Changes** grid.

### Confirming the Changes

In the **Pending Product Changes **grid, check that all the product change from and To's are correct.

- Use the **Pencil **icon to edit the product change
- Use the **Close **button to remove the product change from the grid.

### Running the Changes

1. Go to the **Schedule** tab to schedule the task as required and then click **Submit **to run the task.

> ℹ️ If there are a large number of changes, we recommend running this task after business hours to reduce the load on your system.

2. If you run the task immediately, the **Output **tab displays the results of the completed task, and you can click on the reports generated. If run later, the [Task Scheduler Queue](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28405088/Scheduler+Administration#%5BinlineExtension%5DTask-Scheduler-Queue) contains the output.
