# Overview

**National Tier Maintenance** is a repository of all existing National Contracts held in the system. It allows you to create and maintain national Contracts. A National Contract applies to all branches and can apply to all customers, or only to the customers who have been linked to it.

To add a National Contract, you first create the National Contract, then add the Customer Contract/s to the National Contract, then add the pricing tiers (to set pricing for products) to the National Contract.

When processing a sale for a customer who is included in a National Contract, if the National Contract is not their default contract, you are required to select that National Contract in order to apply the contract prices for the products specified within it.

To assign tier pricing, you must select a section and tier. Any products included in that section where the "contract" flag is active will be added to the contract when the scheduled task is run, with the corresponding pricing as defined by the tier level.

A section can only be assigned once at any one time to a contract.

Multiple sections can be assigned to a single contract.

The following changes in Product Tier Pricing Dashboard will alter the products on the contract when the scheduled task is run:

- If the contract flag on the current tier product record is unchecked, the product will be removed from the contract.
- If the section on the current tier product record is set to tier disabled, the product will be removed from the contract.
- If the section on the current tier product record is changed to a section that is not assign on the contract, the product will be removed from the contract.
- If the tier price is manually changed on the current tier product record and the contract does NOT have future review dates set, the price will be updated on the contract.
- If a future tier product record becomes the active current tier product record (time elapsing) and the contract does NOT have future review dates set, the price will be updated on the contract.

> ⚠️ - If the contract flag on the current tier product record is unchecked, the product will be removed from the contract regardless of future review dates.
> ⚠️ - If the section on the current tier product record is set to tier disabled, the product will be removed from the contract regardless of future review dates.
> ⚠️ - If the section on the current tier product record is changed to a section that is not assigned on the contract, the product will be removed from the contract regardless of future review dates.
> ⚠️ - If the tier price is manually changed on the current tier product record and the contract does have future review dates set, the price will be updated on the next available future review price if it is within the effective date range. The current contract price will not be updated.
> ⚠️ - If a future tier product record becomes the active current tier product record (time elapsing) and the contract does have future review dates set, the price will be updated on the next available future review price if it is within the effective date range. The current contract price will not be updated.
> ⚠️ - If future tier products records exist, then these prices will be displayed on the Contract Review Dates section of the product record.
