# Overview

The **Product Tier Pricing Dashboard** allows you to import products from external files, search for existing product tier pricing and add, assign & maintain tiered pricing for a product in the Product Tier Pricing Dashboard. When assigning tiered pricing to a product, a product is assigned to a section and a section is assigned to a contract. A section allows you to group product tier pricing into categories. Future tier pricing can also be created by entering an effective date greater than > today. Refer to [Future tier pricing](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28402830) below for further information.

> 📝 For example:
> 📝
> 📝 You may want to assign tiered pricing for a product if a Supplier increases their cost of the product. You can setup a new tier product record to commence the date the Supplier increases their costs, so effectively you would have two product tier pricing records, the first containing the current pricing with an Effective From/To range up until the date before the new costs are introduced and a second product tier pricing record containing the new prices (accommodating the cost increase from the Supplier) with an Effective From date set the day the new prices are introduced.

Introducing products into the Product Tier Pricing Dashboard

There are 4 methods for adding or importing products to the Product Tier Pricing dashboard:

1. A nightly automated scheduled task **TierPrc** which imports new products (without a tier pricing record already defined) into the Product Tier Pricing Dashboard. This scheduled task also updates products to the contracts if the section has been assigned and also updates any current or future prices based on the tier level assigned to the contract. Once the **TierPrc** scheduled task has been run, these products are then made available to the Product Tier Pricing Dashboard. These product/s must then be assigned tiered pricing.

> ✅ Refer to [Assigning tiered pricing to a product](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28402830) for further information.

**Structure of the import file**

> ℹ️ All fields are mandatory. The file format is a plain-text comma-separated file.

In order of appearance, the columns must be structured as follows:

1. Product ID
2. Section Number: Each section has a number and a description. The section number should be used here to determine which section the product is linked to.
3. Branch To Use: This is the branch code to use to determine the GP%.
4. Effective From Date: Date from which the tier is effective.
5. On Contract: Should the price be applied to contracts or skipped by the scheduled task
6. Tier 1 Sell Price
7. Tier 2 Sell Price
8. Tier 3 Sell Price
9. Tier 4 Sell Price
10. Tier 5 Sell Price
11. Tier 6 Sell Price
12. Tier 7 Sell Price
13. Tier 8 Sell Price
14. Tier 9 Sell Price

**Validations performed on the import file**

All data is loaded as a character and individually validated as follows:

1. Product: The product must exist
2. Section Number: Must be a valid section
3. Branch To Use: Must be a valid branch
4. Effective From Date: Must be a valid date
5. On Contract: Must be a valid logical (yes/no, true/false,y/n)
6. Tier X Sell Price: Must be a valid number and may not be less than zero

**Important Notes**

> ⚠️ - Importing the same data twice is allowed and will overwrite existing data, not create new data.
> ⚠️ - Clicking on Import will import all lines that are considered valid.
> ⚠️ - Invalid lines are shown in the grid below the ‘import’ button and will NOT be imported if the ‘import’ button is clicked.
> ⚠️ - There is a 20 second limit in Frameworks for any processing. If the 20 second limit is exceeded, a timeout will occur and the import will fail.
> ⚠️ - If the file is too big, split the file into smaller files and try again until the processing is less than 20 seconds.
> ⚠️ - The name of the import file is irrelevant, but the format above must be adhered to for the import to succeed.

Adding an existing product to the Product Tier Pricing Dashboard

You are only able to set the **Effective From **date for tier pricing when adding a product to the Product Tier Pricing Dashboard, not when maintaining an existing tier pricing record for a product. The system automatically assigns the **Effective To** date based on other product tier pricing record/s created for the same product; for any tier product records (current or future) where a future tier exists, the **Effective To** is set to the day before the future tiers **Effective** **From**. The last tier product record will have the **Effective To** date set to *31/12/9999*.

To add an existing product to the Product Tier Pricing Dashboard, perform the following:

1. Click **Frameworks **then type **Product Tier Pricing Dashboard **(or select **Product Tier Pricing Dashboard **from within the **Inventory** navigation tree).
2. Click New.
3. *Search for then select the product you would like to assign tiered pricing to* in the **Product** field.

> ✅ Refer to [Searching for existing customised tier pricing](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28402830) for further information.

4. *Select the date you would like tier pricing to commence from* in the **Effective From:** field.
5. Select a *branch* to use in the **Branch To Use** field. When the branch has been assigned, the product branch details are populated on the right hand side of the screen in the **Branch Sell**, **Branch Cost** and **Branch GP%** fields.

> ℹ️ The branch cost used at this branch is the basis for the GP calculations when assigning tier pricing.

6. Select a *section* in the **Section** field. By default, *Tier Disabled* is assigned. A section allows you to group product tier pricing into categories.

> ℹ️ If the section is set to *Tier Disabled*, the product will not be added to the contract.

7. Enable the **Contract** field if you want this product's tier pricing to be applied to Contracts.
8. * Assign tier pricing to the product* by editing the **Tier n** field/s (*Tier 1* - *Tier 10* fields) *or* by updating the **GP%** field/s.
A good practice is to assign the highest discount to **Tier 1** and the lowest discount to the lowest level Tier.

![image](media://292c376e-ff60-478c-b22f-497361e9a5c9)

> ℹ️ Enable Future Price if this product is future priced. If the Effective from Date on the Tier Pricing record is equal to or greater than the effective date of the future pricing, the branch pricing display fields in the Tier Pricing Maintenance popup will show the future sell, cost and GP%'s.

9. Click **Save.**

### About the Future Branch Price, Future Branch Sell & Future Branch Price GP% fields

**Future Branch Price**

The Future Branch Price is defined by the updated future standard costs for a selected product, however if the Branch has any cost loading, then the cost loading is added to the Branch Cost displayed in the Product Tier Pricing Dashboard.

**Future Branch Sell**

If the product branch record has the Hold STD Sell field set to *yes*, the Sell Price will be maintained.

If the product branch record has the Hold STD Sell field set to *no*, the Sell Price will be set based on the maintaining of the GP%.

**Future Branch Price GP%**

This is calculated based on the **Future Branch Price** and **Future Branch Sell** columns.
