# Overview

**Job Sections** define the different jobs within a **project** or **sales order**, helping to organise and structure quotes and orders effectively. They provide a clear breakdown of work, ensuring that materials and tasks are allocated correctly.

> For example, A **Job Section** might be **Flooring **for a job on a project or sales order.

By using **Job Sections**, businesses can improve clarity in project planning and sales order management while maintaining a structured approach to tracking product usage.

Creating Job Sections

Before you can maintain job sections you need to create the Job Sections at a high level. To create a new job section, perform the following:

1. From the Frameworks hamburger menu go to **System Administration** - **Miscellaneous Table Maintenance**, and search for **Job Tables - Job Sections**.

2. Click **Add **to add a new Job section. The line number is automatically populated by the system sequentially by 1.
3. Assign a Section ID for your job section (can be alpha numeric), as well as a description. Example: kitchen.

> ⚠️ While you can have more than one identical description, you must have a unique Section ID, if you try to enter 2 sections with the same ID an error message will display, and you will need to correct the duplicate section ID:

# Maintaining Job Sections

In order to automatically add process model tasks to your Job/Order you need to link your Job Sections to a Product that has been allocated a Process Model.

> ℹ️ You do not need to link a Job Section to a Product IF you are going to manually add Job Sections to Sales Orders.

Job Sections can also be created here, however you can only link Job Sections to a Product via the Job Section Maintenance option within Production Scheduling.

To maintain a Job Section perform the following:

1. From the hamburger menu go to **Production Scheduling** - **Maintenance** - **Job Section Maintenance**.
2. Click **Add** to add a new Job Section (you can also add Job sections via Miscellaneous Table Maintenance as per [above](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28402116/Job+Section+Maintenance#%5BinlineExtension%5DCreating-Job-Sections)).

If you have already create the Job section via Miscellaneous Table Maintenance you can now link the Job Section to a Primary Product. Click on the Job Section row you wish to edit and enter/update the following information:
