![image-20251017-024558.png](media://50a25c92-f6f4-4d9d-b57d-e5515db1337a)

#### a. Pack To Split Section

This section displays the details of the source timber pack you have selected to split into smaller packs.

- **Stocking Branch: **Displays the branch where the source pack is stocked. This is the branch that currently holds the timber pack in inventory.
- **Pack Number: **Displays the unique pack number identifier for the timber pack you are splitting. This is the source pack from which timber will be moved to create a new pack.
- **Pack Marks: **Displays identifying marks or notations on the source pack. Some suppliers place identifying marks on packs to help with identification and tracking of specific timber batches.
- **Pack Date: **Displays the date when the source pack was created or added to **Frameworks**. This helps identify the age of the timber stock.

#### b. New Pack Section

This section allows you to configure the details for the new pack that will be created from the split operation.

<details>
<summary>For more information about the new pack section, click here.</summary>

**Stocking Branch**

Displays the branch where the new split pack will be stocked. The new pack inherits the same stocking branch as the source pack and cannot be changed during the split operation.

---

**Pack Number**

Enter the pack number for the new split pack. You can manually enter a pack number following your branch's numbering conventions, or click **Next Pack Number** to automatically generate the next available pack number.

> ⚠️ The pack number must be unique.

---

**Next Pack Number Button**

Click **Next Pack Number** to automatically populate the **Pack Number** field with the next available pack number based on your branch's pack numbering sequence. This ensures pack numbers follow a consistent pattern and prevents duplicate pack numbers.

> ℹ️ Enable the [InvPakSplit](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FSS/pages/162988052) system flag to add a suffix (*01, *02, *03) to the original pack number. This helps groups related packs together and shows which packs came from the same parent pack.

---

**Pack Marks**

Enter identifying marks or notations for the new pack. This field is optional but can help with pack identification and tracking. You may choose to use the same marks as the source pack or create new marks to distinguish the split pack.

---

**Pack Date**

Displays the date that will be assigned to the new pack. This date defaults to the current date and represents when the split pack is created in Frameworks. The date cannot be changed during the split operation.

---

**Print New Labels**

Enable this checkbox to automatically print pack labels for the new pack after the split operation completes. When enabled, the label printing options become available.

- When enabled, **Frameworks **sends the pack label print job to the selected printer immediately after creating the new pack.
- When disabled, no labels are printed, but you can print labels later using the pack label printing functions.

---

**Printer**

Select the printer where pack labels will be printed. This field is only available when **Print New Labels** is enabled. Click the search icon to open the Printer Finder window and select from available printers configured for pack label printing.

- Only printers configured for pack label output appear in the Printer Finder.
- The selected printer must be accessible from your workstation.

> ✅ Refer to [Printer Maintenance](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/FRAM/pages/28377214) for information about configuring printers for pack labels.

---

**Label Qty**

Enter the number of pack labels to print for the new pack. This field is only available when **Print New Labels** is enabled.

- The default value is typically 1, but you can print multiple copies if needed.
- Common practice is to print one label per pack for attachment to the physical timber bundle.
</details>

#### c. Pack Product Details Grid

The Pack Product Details grid displays all product lines within the source timber pack and allows you to specify which quantities to move to the new pack.

- **Line: **Displays the line number for each product within the pack. Line numbers provide a sequential reference for each different product or length combination in the pack. This column may be truncated in the display but represents the full line number.
- **Product Code: **Displays the product identifier for the timber in the pack. This is the **Frameworks** product code that identifies the specific timber product, including its dimensions, grade, and specifications.
- **Length: **Displays the length of the timber pieces in metres for this line. Each line represents a specific length of timber within the pack. Packs commonly contain multiple lines with different lengths, which is why splitting by length is often useful.
- **Qty: **Displays the total quantity of pieces for this length currently in the source timber pack. This represents the maximum number of pieces available to split for this product line.
  - This quantity cannot be edited as it reflects the actual stock in the source pack.
  - The value in **Qty to Split** cannot exceed this quantity.
- **Qty to Split: **Enter the quantity of pieces you want to move from this line to the new pack. The value you enter must be less than or equal to the total quantity shown in the **Qty** column.
  - Leave this field blank or enter zero if you do not want to split any pieces of this length.
  - You can split quantities from multiple lengths in a single split operation.
  - The remaining quantity (Qty minus Qty to Split) stays in the original pack after the split completes.

- **Total Display: **The numeric value displayed below the grid shows the total quantity being split across all product lines. This is the sum of all values entered in the **Qty to Split** column and provides a quick reference for the total pieces being moved to the new pack.

Click **Split Pack** to execute the split operation and create the new pack with the quantities you specified.

> ℹ️ **Validation Rules:**
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ - You can split the full quantity of a single length from a pack containing multiple lengths.
> ℹ️ - You can split partial quantities from any or all lengths in the pack.
> ℹ️ - You cannot split the entire contents of the pack (all quantities from all lengths). At least one length must have a remaining quantity in the source pack.
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ If you attempt to split every piece of every length, Frameworks displays the validation message "*Cannot split entire quantity of product*" and the split operation is cancelled.

> ✅ Refer to [Split a Pack](https://sterlandsupport.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/fwksproau/pages/30531050) for step-by-step process instructions.

---

## 3. The Command Buttons

The Command Buttons section appears at the bottom of the screen and provides actions that apply to the currently selected adjustment operation.

- **Cancel: **Click **Cancel** to discard any unsaved changes and revert to the last saved state. This does not close the screen.
- **Close: **Click **Close** to exit the Pack Adjustment screen. If there are unsaved changes, you will be prompted to save or discard them before closing.
